    About Us

The Village Cattery is newly built and situated in the beautiful Meon Valley. The pens are built to the very highest standards with the comfort and well-being of your cat in mind. We meet and exceed the requirements of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and the cattery is built to Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB) specifications. We are licenced by Winchester City Council and are inspected regularly.

Each large pen has a penthouse style sleeping compartment which is accessed by a ramp and cat flap. Don’t worry if your cat is not used to a cat flap as we can teach him or her - they get the idea very quickly!! Each sleeping compartment is fully insulated and heated in the colder weather. A window lets your cat look out while still keeping nice and warm! Each pen also has a sunbathing shelf , a chair with a soft cushion and a scratching post is provided. We have seven large pens which will comfortably accommodate two cats and one family pen which will accommodate up to four cats.

The cattery looks over our garden where our guests can watch our free-range garden hens. Our garden is open to a large field where there are horses and in the summer, rare breed sheep. We also have mature trees which are hung with bird feeders and colourful borders in the summer attract bees and butterflies for our guests added enjoyment! We believe that providing interest and entertainment means that your cat will be happy and relaxed during his stay with us.

    Diet

We have a broad range of both dry and wet food and we aim to feed whatever your cat is used to at home - in this way we can avoid tummy upsets caused by a change of diet. They will be offered two meals a day and have a dish of dried food available at all times.

If your cat is on a special prescription diet from your vet, you will need to bring this with you.

    Bedding and Toys

We provide a cushioned bed but if you would like to bring your cats favourite blanket or other bedding, please do so.

Toys will also be provided but if your cat has a favourite toy or toys please feel free to bring these as it will make him feel more at home.

    Vaccinations

Part of our licence conditions are that we are not able to board unvaccinated cats.

Proof of your cats up-to-date vaccinations against Cat Flu and Feline Enteritis must be seen before admission into The Village Cattery

We also recommend vaccination against Feline Leukaemia.

    Fleas and Worms

Please make sure that your cat is treated for fleas and worms prior to arrival. This will make your cat more comfortable and prevent any spread within the cattery!

    Medication

If your cat is on medication, we are happy to administer this free of charge. The Village Cattery has veterinary cover 24 hours a day. We can also administer insulin injections for diabetic cats.
